Thimble Summer

In 1930's Wisconsin, nine-year-old tomboy Garnet Linden finds a silver thimble.  The same day the rains come and end the long drought on her family's farm.  Garnet can't help feeling that the thimble is a magic talisman, for the summer proves to be interesting and exciting in so many different ways... Reading this book, I became the nine-year-old-tomboy who enjoyed her sparkling farming life in 1930s even though I was a perfect city girl in my nine-year-old. =)
